Major Tourist and Pilgrimage Centres in Kalady
- Sri Sringeri Math (Adi Shankara Janma Bhoomi Temple): A renowned temple complex situated on the banks of the Periyar River at the birthplace of Adi Shankara. The complex includes temples dedicated to Sri Shankaracharya and Sharadamba, as well as the Samadhi of Aryamba, the mother of Shankara.
- Muthalakkadavu: A famous bathing ghat on the Periyar River associated with the legend that led Shankara towards a life of Sannyasa (renunciation).
